Ceremony Suggestions

There is nothing that replaces live music on your special wedding day. Live classical music adds warmth, beauty and a touch of style that your guests will be most impressed by while waiting for the big moment to begin! The combination of voice or flute and classical guitar can play all the traditional repertoire, and you will amazed at how ambient (yet not overpowering) a singer and guitarist are.

A typical church wedding ceremony may call for music at the following places:

  • Prelude (while guests are arriving)
  • Processional (bride/bridal party entering)
  • Unity Candle lighting (great place for a song!)
  • Register signing (it’s now official!)
  • Recessional (off to party)

The Dearing Concert Duo will create a warm ambiance while your guests arrive during the Prelude (about 15 minutes before the ceremony begins) with a mixed selection of flute and classical guitar music.

When signaled by the official we will begin music for the bridal processional. There may be 2 pieces of music: one for the bridal party and one for the bride. One may feature Abha singing and one may be instrumental.

You may want music while you (or the bride and groom’s mothers) light a unity candle creating an ambiance for this symbolic moment. You may also want music to be playing if you are signing the official document publicly.

There may be other places you would like music to be inserted during you ceremony (after readings, after reflections or prayers, etc). Don’t hesitate, be creative!

The Dearings are a married couple who enjoy performing at weddings. They perform all types of music for voice and classical guitar at church wedding ceremonies and perform a variety of classical based music for flute and classical guitar during receptions at banquet facilities throughout Southern Michigan.
