Hospital and hospice music programming is a specific discipline. The credential that distinguishes a serious music-in-medicine artist from an entertainer is the Certified Music Practitioner certificate awarded by the Music for Healing & Transition Program (MHTP).
The Dearing Concert Duo is in active development on this credential. We have chosen to build the program properly rather than market a service we are not yet certified to deliver.
If your system is exploring music-in-medicine programming for 2026 or beyond, we welcome an introductory conversation now so we can shape our credentialing path around your timeline.
What the program will cover.
Bedside and quiet-floor
One-on-one or small-group bedside music for oncology, hospice, and post-surgical floors — repertoire selected with the care team.
Public-space programming
Atrium, lobby, chapel, and family-lounge concerts — voice + flute + guitar at low volume, designed not to compete with the room.
Foundation & gala work
Hospital foundation galas, donor recognition events, and white-coat ceremonies — already part of our active corporate-galas vertical.
