Classical guitarist Daniel Turner has been studying under Steven for 4 years now. Daniel came to Steve with no private lesson experience, and only had a high school guitar class as his background. He came to Steve with a terrible instrument, and Steve was able to help Dan find a decent axe. He began taking weekly lessons with Dearing and then began to take off. He soon was playing difficult pieces with fluidity, performing at a high level, winning competitions within the School of Music at The University of Windsor, and being a leader within the guitar studio. Daniel took third place at the Baldwin Wallace International Guitar Competition in 2016. This summer Daniel will compete at the Ontario Kiwanis Music Festival finals. He will graduate from Steven’s studio in 2018.
For those interested in studying guitar with Steven in his Farmington Hills, MI studio (or at University of Windsor), more information can be found on the Lessons page on this site, or on Steven’s newly refreshed solo site: StevenDearing.com.
