The Dearing Concert Duo performs music for voice and classical guitar AND flute and classical guitar covering a broad range of virtuosic music. They can be heard frequently throughout the United States and Canada in a range of settings and have sold out venues such as the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Vivace Series at the Birmingham Temple.

First Arts Performance Series of Philadelphia
I am writing to express the pleasure which was mine in arranging and sponsoring two concerts by the Dearing Concert Duo in Evesham, Worchesshire and in Cheltenham for the Cheltenham International Music Festival. In performance they demonstrated-quite apart from their fine musicianship, of course!-a superb balance; precise yet lyrical, intense and yet light of manner, involve in their music and yet accessible to their audience.

On Wednesday, April 18, 2001, we had the pleasure of hosting a performance by the Dearing Concert Duo at the Fort Erie Public Library. These two accomplished musicians charmed our audience with a varied programme that included both instrumental and vocal selections. The combination of flute and guitar is quite enchanting, and the addition of the vocal element added yet another dimension. It is obvious that the Dearings strive for excellence in their musicianship, and our audience was most impressed with the caliber of the performance.
Steven and Abha are both very comfortable communicating with the audience and enhanced the musical selections with a brief introduction to each piece. Their easygoing, down-to-earth approached helped the audience to not only better understand the music, but also to increase their enjoyment of the performance.
I can confidently say that duo would be a welcomed addition to any music series.

the Dearing Concert Duo presented a delightful program for the 2001 Vivace series at the Birmingham Temple in Farmington Hills, Michigan on April 21, 2001. Abha’s playing displayed a lovely, engaging tone on the flute. Their demanding pieces included sonatas by Albinoni and Giuliani as well as a suite by Pujol and six songs by Manuel DeFalla. Abha sang the De Falla songs with pure tone and beautiful quality.
Unusual music provided an interesting program of selections not frequently heard. The last piece, LHistoire du Tango by Astor Piazzolla, captivated the audience.
The Dearings are an attractive couple and appear on the stage with confidence and charm.

I am providing a letter of acknowledgment for the concert performed recently by Steven and Abha Dearing, flute and guitar, as part of the Soundsation Series of Music at the University of Windsor. This was the second time the duo has appeared on our series.
Their concert on January 28 in Assumption Chapel delighted the audience, attracting some listeners who do not often attend this series. The program had a pleasing and balanced variety and showcased the talents of the two musicians to fine advantage. Their verbal introductions to the pieces were informative and added a good deal to the listeners’ appreciation.
